Kris
For the past nine years, Kris has been committed to empowering students to find their movement potential through Pilates. She strongly believes that a regular Pilates practice offers the opportunity to transform bodies and minds. Experiencing burn-out from the usual group exercise offerings and hoping to tap into the much publicized benefits of the core, Kris sought out group Pilates classes. "After just a few sessions, it became very clear to me that Pilates is so much more than just good prep for swimsuit season!” What she discovered was an entirely different way to use her muscles, a new level of body awareness and strength that has carried her through an injury, the aging process and keeping up with her two active sons! In 2009 Kris pursued her first Pilates certification. “ Unlike many Pilates instructors that I had met, I did not come from a dance background, nor was I personal trainer in a previous life. My fitness experience was just regular workouts at the gym, like most people I know. But once I got hooked on Pilates and experienced its transformative benefits, I knew I wanted to help others achieve the same.” Kris continued her Pilates education earning her comprehensive certification from Peak Pilates at The Good Space in Houston, TX. She later earned a masters in Pilates teaching and then became certified by the Pilates Method Alliance. A perpetual student, Kris maintains her own consistent Pilates practice, regularly engages in Pilates education and participates in a mentoring group with other Pilates instructors from around the country. “Ultimately, the very best education I have received comes from the students that I have the privilege of working with everyday!”
